- Must all computer customer service people treat clients like retards? I mean, really. I called Apple today -- the iBook has to go in on a warranty claim. Faulty LCD screen and the hard drive is going. The guy on the phone, who probably had 3 days of training under his belt, apparently is incapable of listening. I explained the symptoms and everything I'd done to alleviate or rectify them, and he replied with, "Have you reset the power manager?" Uh, yeah, dude...that was the first thing on the list. Pay attention. Anyway, after dealing with Zippy the Wonderdork for the better part of 45 minutes, Apple is now sending me a pre-paid overnight express box to ship them the iBook in.
- I need to learn to swim. I mean, I can. Sorta. Just not real well. And if I'm going to get around to that Life Goal of doing the Hawaii Ironman, I have to take care of this.
- Marathons. Haven't done one since 1993, while stationed at Ft. Bragg. I guess this means I have to start running again. Going to have to take it slow so that Mr. Ankle and the Bad Knee Twins have time to get used to it.
- Nice day! I just spent a few hours outside working on American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Sipping Mt. Dew, sucking up sunlight, and generally relaxing.
- Reading. See aforementioned thing on the Gaiman book. Have to dig into Stephen King's new collection of short stories and get it back to mso soon. Someone sent me Edward Abbey's The Monkey Wrench Gang off my Amazon wishlist in exchange for some of my fonts. And I really should bite the bullet, give in to pop culture and read that Harry Potter shit.
