Man, I was at Barnes & Noble today, and I saw a book called Lost by Ian Phillips...had a kid's drawing of dog on the front. Picked it up, out of curiousity...it was nothing but lost pet posters from around the world... I got all choked up, especially at the posters drawing by little kids who lost their cats. Very sad. :-(

I got a sci-fi paperback, a sandwich from Subway, and came home. Watched about 5 minutes of the Harry Potter movie, but have no desire to continue, because I have my own vision of how the things in Rowling's world are...once I'm done with the current 4, I'll give the DVD a spin. Speaking of DVD's, I still have [info]mso's copy of Snatch, that I have to watch...and I think I'm ready to burn my copy of Black Hawk Down...it's been giving me really fucked-up dreams about my stint in the Army. Yeesh.

Anyway, props to my kid brother for letting me use his digital camera today...I went around and snapped pics of various things -- the cats, my truck, the stuffed Spiderman I won at Valleyfair yesterday, and I had mah bro take a pic of me so ppl would finally get an idea of what my goofy ass looks like.

So without further ado...

Shield your eyes, my picture's the first... )

Interesting!

Just so there's no confusion, I did this as a response to [info]beewitched's website, there's certainly not anything going on. (To the person this disclaimer is for: you know who you are! *grin*)

Anyway, I went and got that O'Reilly's book on learning Cocoa programming. It looks to be a bit on the "thin" side from an information perspective. I guess I'll have to read the documentation that came with the dev tools, too. I am highly stoked to see that the language has built-in vector graphics tools and font libraries. This will make coding a replacement for Fontographer ten million times easier.

Got my XTerra over to the crew at Nissan to get my sunroof fixed, too. They were supposed to call last Tuesday/Wednesday and never did, so I called them and then took it over there, and voila! -- instant fix. Too bad a major storm system is moving in right now.

Hey, I'm back. I guess I should apologize for going quite awhile without updating. Shame on me!

Things have been crazy lately. I've been working on a new batch of fonts, plus reworking the website, because the famous 1991 Honda Civic DX is gone, and has been replaced with a 2001 Nissan XTerra SE. The Honda was on its last legs, and I decided to go for it and see if I could get financing. And I did! It took awhile, and I drove the X around for six days until they brought me in to the dealership to sign off on all the paperwork, but it's mine...ALL MINE. *evil laugh*

I must admit, though. I do kind of miss the Honda. Or at least, the gas mileage of a Honda. I didn't realize that a V-6 sucked down this much gas. Oh well. You gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet.

So atop the fonts, and the XTerra, and so forth, I've been working my lil butt off, starting to get out on the bike now that it's warming up a bit, plus I've been doing work on my novel, A Castle in the Sun. I shall now include another excerpt of it, for your enjoyment:
